The journey started in 1995 when I rode my bike down to the local library. I cant remember exactly why I went to the library, I’m sure it had nothing to do with books… Anyways, when I came back outside my bike was gone. A few days later my Dad took me to a local bike shop to pick out a new bike and that’s where I found my Raleigh M800. Not only did I find a killer bike but the bike salesman talked me into checking out a mountain bike race the upcoming weekend at Afton Alps.
The following weekend I attended and was instantly hooked. From 1995 to 2001 cycling was my life. I traveled from coast to coast racing nearly every weekend. All good things must come to an end though and in 2001 I was attending Minnesota State University and decided to hang up my helmet. I sold my bikes and decided to focus on the next chapter in my life. Fast forward to 2014 and I’m back!
I’m now actively racing both mountain and road events and loving it more than ever. Feel free to say hi if you see me at the races or just spinning along a country road somewhere. I’m planning on adding entries regarding my bikes, goals and training progress. You can also follow me on Strava with the link below.
